ABOUT ZILLA FU
Artist Biography
Zilla, a first-generation Canadian Asian, returned to her hometown of Vancouver, BC, in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Visual Arts from Emily Carr University in 2018 and a 3D Animation Diploma from BCIT in 2022. She is passionate about using both traditional and digital media to explore humanity and relationships in the modern world. Her artistic practice includes painting, sculpture, 3D animation, beading, and digital drawing.
Growing up with technology as an artist in today’s fast-paced culture, Zilla reflects on how we observe and respond to others. She addresses the pervasive anxiety and emptiness many feel—emotions tied to fears of not being good enough or fitting in. Through her work, she aims to resonate with her audience and inspire them.
You can find Zilla on various online platforms such as Patreon, Instagram, Line, as well as in select stores and galleries.
