ABOUT ZILLA FU
Artist Biography

Zilla Fu is an innovative Hong Kong-Canadian artist based in Vancouver, renowned for her boundary-pushing work that challenges the limits of both painting and sculpture. Having graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2018, Zilla explores the relationship between feeling and color, visual shock and spiritual reception, and insider and outsider identities in her art.

Zilla's art is rooted in her family's support, despite their limited knowledge of the art world. She considers herself a bridge between her family and the art community, inviting people to appreciate the beauty and complexity of art as a universal language that connects people from all over the world.

In 2020, Zilla delved into Superflat digital art, creating a captivating series of minimalist works called Maeko and River, featuring comics and moving stickers that resonated strongly with her audience. In pursuit of closer engagement with her viewers, Zilla has studied 3D Modelling, Art, and Animation, focusing mainly on 3D animation to enhance her understanding of the human body's mechanics and expressions. Her work continues to break down the traditional boundaries of art forms and explore the purity and hybridity of art and life.

You can find Zilla on various online platforms such as Patreon, Instagram, Line, as well as in select stores and galleries.
